Munroe upgrades da Vinci Robotics Program

Munroe has recently acquired the da Vinci® Si System, the latest generation da Vinci System, and an update to Munroe's da Vinci robotics program. Munroe’s da Vinci robotics program began in 2005,  and since then the medical center has provided care to over 1,800 men with prostate cancer.

Munroe upgrades the DaVinci Robots program

The da Vinci robot allows Munroe to offer an innovative minimally invasive alternative to open and laparoscopic surgery for urological, renal, women’s gynecological conditions, as well as selected thoracic and general surgery procedures.
Procedures are performed from a control console by a surgeon who directs the motions of the robot in the operating room. Small incisions are made where a 3D camera and tiny instruments that move with the dexterity of a human wrist provide surgeons a very high level of precision. This, in turn, allows our patients shorter hospital stays, faster recovery times and enhanced clinical outcomes.
